Heya all:

Today we switched all profile pages

and all "single posts and comment pages"


to VC2.0


Yes, we also tried to switch the blog pages but it did not go well..the fukkin pic upload did fukkin generate fukkin bugs all over the fukkin place and we now have a fukkin error log of fukkin 2.4 gig fukking file size to fukkin look fukkin into that fukkin problem ... although it performs well on the internal test sibling site, which is fukkin supposed to be fukkin all the same same and does not create any fukkin problems there. Anyways - after 2 fukkin hours of trying to fix the problem I switched back and will hopefully try again tomorrow....

Please please: Report any issues you might have on any of the new pages. IF you report a problem please let us know what kind of device and what kind of web-browser you were using. The pages look totally different on different devices!!!

You haven't asked yet, but going through 'My Wall' for the first time in new format - the name of the contributor is very well, in fact fukkin too well, hidden. Completely not in proportion to 'the story' for instance. Maybe have the name (and link) at the bottom of the story.

Today my blog page looks fine and i like the new look. i enjoy the new action of when i click on a pic., since i'm a none payer, clicking on it gets me a FUN enlargement of the "only residents can do that". good going so far.

Are you testing my eye sight? LOL, it is narrower now. Was way lower than your banner on the left: VCITY AT IGORSCLOUDS. Now it is on the same level. I do not feels SQUEEZED "SHORT" anymore, HA HA too, LOL. But the page still seems to be COMPACTED THOUGH. May be all the kinks will be ironed out as time goes by. Thanks Igor for following up.

Because of you screwing,( I am being POLITE NOW) with the layout, NOW I HAVE TO WEAR EYE GLASSES IGOR! LOL. The page is back to what it was yesterday afternoon and is fine, but not as large as it was before the change. I'll sleep on it and hopefully it will stay like this. Keeping my fingers crossed!
The comment page it is too dark! I saw Grumpy yesterday telling you that he realizes darker colors is cheaper, :-), I do not think it matters what color, right? I've had few web sites and now I have 2 and never made a difference.
The page still looks too busy and cluttered? And PLEASE, the PM pages is still great, LOL. Will wait and see.

what you mean with too dark? The background? We need the contrast for people on "cheap" smartphones who dont have a super high res display like the iphones...

Yes, dark background. I never use any tablets or smartphones to log on here, so I would not know. When I am away from my computers, 3, I am working. My smart phone is for my calls and texting and business emails that come through my business web sites.

Change for the sake of change isn't always good. I'll be taking a wait a see approach. Noticed Jammer mentioned that the different color of a contributors response is no longer the case. If that is true, I think that is a feature that shouldn't be changed. A contributor's response should always be highlighted in one form or another. Lacking that takes the personal touch out of this site. Loosing that personal touch would be a tragedy.

I just answered a reply to one of my comments and the writing is a lighter shade of gray. I guess different shades of gray are cheaper than colored. You are after all in this business to make a living . Inadvertently or not your endeavor has made some good friends here. And that Igor, sooner or later will make us come to the pay site.

Good point. Yes, we may be creatures of habits, but when changes go smoothly and do not cause any problems, that is good. I am a paying member. I always was. I guess I just wanted full access and did not want to be blocked, or I did not know any better! LOL

Ok, I somewhat get the faster debugging part, makes a little more sense now.

The comment section is way to busy on the top part, never the less I'll wait and see what method is in your madness in that regard. Shure would be nice when what's in your minds eye would translates smoothly to this fickle medium.

Hi Igor,
From a Windows7 PC under Firefox:
- On the top right menu: comments and messages are inverted
- Scrolling down a video post, the video appears above the top menu.
- The blue/violet banner is too high and gets even higher when scrolling down, preventing to view the whole pic.
- When replying to a comment, the entered text is barely visible (very light grey over white)
- When replying to a comment, the full page is reloaded, which is a pain when replying to many comments on a page.
- Zoom hover is nice but click to show full pic doesn't work.
- Send Message under Submit Comment can be confused with send private message. Should be "Submit".
- Sending an empty comment should not be allowed.
That's it for time being... Hope this helps!!!

The video problem occurs only with Firefox 33.1.1, it's ok with Chrome. It's not so critical, no need to fix....

Programming sure is fun, eh?

On my desk top computer, Windows 7, Google chrome, as I was replying to comments, single post page:
-- much too much text on top, such that without scrolling you see only half the pic - that's a big big no no!!
-- the light grey with which my comments show as I type them is very difficult to see
-- after each comment + enter, I am back to the top of the page
-- notification/comment count are switched around (that's consistent in other pages as well

Not user friendly at all...hope you get this fixed. And maybe even add some days to our membership for these days of not being able to have any fun here. I can understand updating but not changing the whole layout. Can't even see the whole chat board....try to scroll and it jumps to extreme top or bottom. Hope this is all temporary! Didn't pay to have down days like this!

When I clicked on chat it would send it to the top and I could only see a few names...then I would scroll the page down and an arrow was there...tap it and moved to the top but still only part of the chat was showing...the blue gray bar at the top was like it was hiding or lapping on top of the chat sidebar. Hard to explain but it's the old iPad so it may not support your upgrades. Just a bummer. And I will miss the one click zoom but I saw your explanation for that.

I like the the new visual appearance of the blog pages, but I have a real issue with the way the zoom works to view the high resolution photos. Just dragging the cursor over the pic activates the zoom feature, which I find very distracting. In the old format, I never left clicked on the pic to zoom, I would always center click to open the high res photo in a new tab. Unless I've missed it, this option no longer appears to be available...and I know I am going to miss it.

I also miss having the replies posted by the contributor showing up in a different color. I found that very helpful...

I'm using an Acer PC, and I'm browsing with Firefox 33.1

And I also agree with some of the other feedback...the lite gray font when entering a comment is very hard on the eyes...

I also notice now that the numbers for the total comments and messages displayed in the top left does not update automatically, It only updates when you refresh the page or open a new page. I actually like that better (marginally) then having it update manually...but I suspect many would prefer it the other way.

To make a long story short: There is no more "open image at original size" on modern website. Why? Because everything is relative to the user's device. The pics get bigger and bigger (like your cam delivering 4000 by 3000 easily) while the display getting smaller and smaller (mobiles!) while at the same time offering screens which show more pixels than the "normal" 300dpi screen. So "smart" zoomers try to show the pic in the best resolution calculated for your device....

Thank-you for the explanation for the way the zoom is now working. I don't like it, but at least now I understand the reason for it...and that will make it easier to live with. And now I am fully supportive of the other members who are calling for lest text on the screen to allow for a larger display of the photo...I finally understand why they are making this an issue.

Its good to see the darker font when entering a comment. I thank-you for that, and I thank you and your staff for all the work you are putting in to these improvements. Its a thankless job when there are so many different opinions and personal preferences to deal with...

hi... nice to see the update...
as i said earlier.. the menu space can be reduced as i feel that it takes a lot of space... i can't see the whole image or the clip on my screen, i have to scroll down for that...
i'm using a laptop with windows 7 and google chrome..
and comment and message notifications seems to be interchanged...

I guess I meant my personal page, not my blog. It has the new look and it is difficult to scroll down without zooming on pics. Also, from there, how do I see notifications as comments and PM's are posted?

My comment page is half! I have Windows 7, I use IE and Chrome and both are the same. I wrote earlier about the same problem when looking at posts. That went back to the way it was. It is fine now. Also, the scroll arrow on the bottom right is overlapping the chat icon and keeps on getting mixed up.

And I thought I was doing something wrong! LOL. But, on this page, the top banner is A THIRD DOWN ON THE PAGE! A lot of dark areas. I saw you told others that these issues are fixed, but as I said above, the page still compacted.

PM me a sccreenshot please: the top banner is set to take 8% max?! And thats how we see it on all of our devices..but we only have maybe 1% of the devices which people use...hahahaha..so you never know!
